conveniently located for the counties of Somerset, Devon,
Cornwall, Dorset and Wiltshire. |
| We have over 80 years combined
experience and undertake all types of oil painting restoration
and conservation, from minor repairs and cleaning to the
restoration of oil paintings that some might even consider to be
beyond repair. Just like any other asset, oil paintings need to
be cared for and regardless of quality or value, which might be
measured in both aesthetic and/or financial terms, we believe
that no painting is beyond consideration. |
| We can offer all aspects of
conservation and restoration of paintings, and we specialise in
oil paintings on canvas or panel, from the sixteenth to the
twentieth century. |
| We are specialists in pure egg
tempera. |
| We have worked on paintings by
artists whose work spans a period of over 400 years, such as
Van Dyck, Rubens, Joshua Reynolds, John
Opie, Alfred Munnings, Stanhope Forbes, Laura
Knight, Terry Frost, Fred Yates and Robert
Lenkiewicz. |
| The work can typically include
surface cleaning, consolidation of flaking paint, the repair of
holes and tears, lining, varnish removal, re-varnishing and
necessary retouching. |
| After an initial assessment we are
normally able to give clients an accurate estimate of the
treatment required, cost and timescale. |
